TREAKING SEASON
Although trekking in Nepal can be organized throughout the year, October through May is considered to be the best months for trekking. Summer (monsoon season). These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. Autumn, being the best season for trekking, affords excellent weather and tantalizing mountain views.
January and February are noted for cold weather with occasional snowfall at higher elevations. These months are popular and ideal for trekking for those who are well equipped or who remain at lower elevations below 3000 meters. Late February brings spring in Nepal and offers exhilarating trekking for those who are interested in flowers, birds and natural grandeur. April and May are the height of expedition season and the best time for climbing the high peaks and the approach March to the base camps.

TREKKING PERMIT
Trekking permit is not essential for the general trekking areas such as Everest, the Annapurna, and the Langtang & Rara. Trekking permit is must to visit the restricted areas. A special permit is required to obtain for visiting of Mustang, Manaslu & Dolpa, Tapleung district & Solukhumbu district etc.

MEDICAL MATTERS & ADVICE
Trekking in Nepal need not be considered risky affair as far as your health is concerned but medical check up an inoculation before you start trekking can save you from unexpected hazards. Since the remote places of Nepal are not supplied with necessities that are essential for modern medical facilities, and as the rescue and evacuation are measured in days, it is imperative to make a comprehensive First Aid Box consisting of basic drugs and accessories as part of the paraphernalia for trekking.

ALTITUDE SICKNESS
Altitude Sickness, means the effect of altitude on those who ascend too rapidly to elevations above 3,000 meters. The initial symptoms of ~ Acute Mountain sickness are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, insomnia/sleeplessness, persistent headache, dizziness, light headedness, confusion, disorientation, drunken gait, weakness, fatigue, lassitude, heavy legs, slight swelling of hands and face, breathlessness and breathing irregularity, reduced urine output. These symptoms are to be taken very seriously. The only cure for the Altitude sickness is to descend to a lower elevations immediately and it has no cure or substitute.
We strongly recommend that you take out a personal travel insurance to cover against illness, accidents, loss and theft of items and materials, travel alteration and deviations, rescues and evacuations.

CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
The requirements of these items depend on the trekking region, no of days, altitude and season.
Footgear : Running shoes or boots, camp shoes or thongs. Socks- Nylon thermal.
Clothing  : Down of Fiber – filled jacket, wool shirt, sweater, or acrylic pile jacket, hiking short (for men) or skirt (for women), poncho or umbrella, sun hat, underwear, bathing suit shirt, cotton for men; blouses for women.
Other equipment : rucksack or pack, large Duffle Bag with lock, water  bottle , flashlight , Batteries & Bulbs. Sleeping Bag. Goggles or sunglass, Altimeter, thermometer, compass, Binoculars, camera & Film.
Miscellaneous items : Toilet articles, Toilet paper & Matches, sun cream, towel, laundry soap, medical & first aid kit, wash ‘N Dries (Per- Moistened Novelettes ), Sewing kit , small knife, Bandana,
If you are Going Higher, add the following Items:
Clothing: Down-Filled pants, Nylon windbreaker, Nylon wind pants or Ski warm- Up pants Plus fours, long underwear, wool hat (or Balaclava0, Gloves, down booties (optional) gaiters.
